Time for a ballet lesson
A ballet lesson is usually about sixty minutes to ninety minutes of studio instruction. It is essentially a class of children (or even adults) that are taught by an instructor or teacher through a series of dance exercises. A ballet lesson starts with exercises at the barre which warms up the dancer's muscles while also strengthening them to prepare for their center work. Following the work at the barre, the students take a moment to stretch their legs before coming into the center.
Center work allows the dancer to more freely dance. Although they still perform exercises, this work will enhance their comfort level once it is time to be on stage. At this time the ballet lesson will include adagio, pirouettes, small jumps and large jumps.
Depending on the level of the pupil they may wear pointe shoes throughout the entire ballet lesson. Some classes can be "private" so that the student can have one-on-one time with the instructor, to work on specific needs of that individual dancer.
