Levels of ballet training

Ballet training can be started as young as the age three or four. However, it is not generally until the ages of seven or eight for a child to spark a genuine interest into this type of activity. This age group is an ideal time to begin developing body coordination while introducing techniques of ballet training. Through a structured class each child will also learn self-discipline and body awareness in an environment that is fun.

As a child becomes more interested in dance, they may choose to expand their ballet training to include other forms of dance such as modern dance or jazz. Having experience in other forms of movement will assist a dancer's versatility and strength as a whole.

For those dancers who wish to take their ballet training to a higher level, one might consider looking into a school that has a professional affiliation with a professional company. These schools often offer a more intensive program that will help mould each individual into the style of dancer the company eventually hires.
