The excitement of a ballet recital

A ballet recital is one of the most exciting moments in a young ballerina's life. It is a time, usually nearing the end of the school year, when the school performs various dance pieces to show their friends and family the dancer's progress from through out the year. A ballet recital allows the dancer to experience performing to the public which entails a large amount of training and confidence.

In order to prepare for a ballet recital, dancers usually practice specific choreography for a number of weeks and sometimes months prior to the opening night. Some schools have certain themes or have a variety of works. Each piece however, gives the different dance grades or ages the opportunity to perform at their unique level.

Although a ballet recital does require a lot of hard work, the excitement of performing on stage is what motivates any dancer to dance. It is a moment of physical expression that can speak to the viewer in a language unique to itself. Regardless if you are a young ballerina or professional dancer, inspiration and confidence can be drawn from these experiences and will be remember forever.
