The need for a ballet bag

A ballet bag is absolutely necessary to carry the important needs of any level ballerina to carry to and from their dance classes. One can carry their shoes, warm up clothes, or even extra leotards, tights or t-shirts in their ballet bag. The following are a few other suggestions each dancer should consider to have handy.

A dancer should have at least one extra pair of slippers or Pointe shoes in their ballet bag. You may never know when a toe can wear through the leather or canvas. In addition, by have an extra pair of Pointe shoes, you can alternate the shoes so one pair of toe shoes will not break down too fast. Or alternatively, you could have one softer pair of Pointe shoes for more intricate Pointe work and a harder pair for more intensive Pointe work.

Other ideas for your ballet bag needs are things such as an extra needle and thread to repair broken ribbons, band aids for blisters, or even a warm-up accessory such as rubber elastic to warm-up and strengthen those metatarsals. And don't forget a water bottle! Hydration is so important for those sweaty rehearsals!
